On Sunday March 1, 2009 during the morning worship service, April Thomas was awarded the first annual “C3 Champion of the Year” award. This award is given to the person who, during the church year, best exhibits a C3 lifestyle. The winner of this award is one who has demonstarted a surrendered life through exemplary ministry efforts. In his or her life, it is evident to all, that God is on the throne. In addition to a nice certificate, the “C3 Champion of the Year” receives a 1,000 year old coin with Christ at the center, signifying a totally surrendered life.
April started and leads our Angel Food Ministry. She uses her time and talent to see that the people of Monroe are able to participate in Angel Food which helps them stretch their food budget. Upon receiving the award, a surpised April exclaimed, “But it’s not me. It’s God!” Yes. That’s the point. That’s exactly the point. That’s C3.
Congratulations April Thomas!
